About-ever-so-slow-shanice-sustainable-fashion

Hello there and welcome!

I’m Shanice, and I am a first-generation Asian-Canadian, born in Canada with Asian immigrant parents. While I’ve always “loved” fashion, there are so many hidden layers to unveil that we discover how environmental destruction and social injustice are deeply rooted in the industry.

I started this sustainability platform for many reasons:

  • to show that we can adopt a more sustainable lifestyle with easy changes or swaps;
  • show that we can still be fashionable, yet mindful of the environment and people;
  • self-evaluate our consumerist habits and learn to slow down;
  • get readers (like yourself) and people thinking;
  • spark a conversation;
  • and share ideas.

While I still want this platform to showcase these, I am continuously learning and gradually “peeling off” those hidden layers. So I wish to also reflect that in what I write.

The pieces that I write are based on my own experiences, opinions, and what I interpret from what I research.

My main goal is that, throughout these posts, you learn something new, be inspired, and have that urge to inspire others and take action.

Remember that sustainability is a journey that is unique to everyone. When faced with a different perspective, it’s important to remain open-minded and help one another improve and be better.

Happy reading!
